Welcome to my life

Hi, my name is Alima Niyetkaliyeva and I am a student at London College of Communication – UAL. The course I’m studying at the moment is BA contemporary media cultures. I am 18 years old and I was born and raised in Almaty, Kazakhstan. I moved to London when I was 15 years old to do my GCSEs and A levels.

As a student in London, studying at University of the Arts I have gained considerable knowledge of a city that is home to many media organisations. This cosmopolitan metropolis and university environment enables interaction with a wide variety of people with different beliefs, values, religions, cultures and ethnic backgrounds. My course is giving me an understanding of how media, cultural and creative processes play in shaping today’s world.
